Brave Review: This Thing Called Love

To be honest, reading the first few chapters of “This Thing Called Love” by Oreva Ode-Irri (@rehviie), I was impressed by the depth of skillfulness and professionalism displayed for a debut collection of stories.

Her skillful writing mirrors those of world renowned authors with several years of experience.

From the use of words, to figures of speech, to the research and facts intwined in her stories, and the level of immersion created with clear descriptions, connections, nuances and unexpected plot twists. I was totally blown away and delighted to read on.

More importantly, these stories (at least the chapters I’ve covered so far) are based on the Nigerian experience that is truly relatable for many – from places to slangs, culture and socialization – aptly described without failing to deliver the core message – LOVE in its various shapes and forms.

The vast range of presentation for each unique story was refreshing. I also love the modern design, look and feel of the book.

I totally love that while these stories are guided by a moral compass and a level of decency, yet, they mirror real and relatable experiences, where everyone can find themselves (past or present), their love story or have hope ignited once again for love in the future.

It was truly delightful to read something so fresh by a young Nigerian author, writer and seasoned spoken word artist.

This is certainly a book you would enjoy reading, should add to your collections of novels, or order as a gift for friends.

Totally love love love “This Thing Called Love”.💕

Without giving you any spoilers😉, you know you should certainly go get a copy in support and celebration of remarkable African writers like Oreva.

Brave Review: Bamboozled by Jesus

Reading “Bamboozled by Jesus” by Yvonne Orji has really been an amazing discovery.😌

She brings such a refreshing, real and raw revelation of her life lessons and rise in purpose, fame, and success.

One that isn’t so common or easily found in the Entertainment Industry. Where living boldly as a follower of Jesus Christ with an intentional discipline to stay grounded, relevant, excellent in craft and consistent in faith can indeed be scarce.

This book is such an encouragement and comfort. A warm hug for anyone who feels like they are falling behind in time, the schedules of life, dreams and aspirations.

It explores processes, the highs and lows, disappointments, and everything in-between to the orchestration and exposure to God-sized dreams becoming a reality.

As always, she shares such hilarious moments, bringing joy and laughter to readers. Her brand and signature of communication shines through, even with this book.

This isn’t a book that can be rushed.
You most likely would take time in-between chapters to savor, and take to heart the lessons and insights shared.

A timeless read.
This is a book to be grateful for.
I know I am.

A highly recommended read, authored by the amazing comedian and Emmy-nominated Nigerian-American actress, Yvonne Orji (@yvonneorji).😊🙌🏽

Brave Review: How Women Rise

Reading “How Women Rise” by Sally Helgensen and Marshall Goldsmith has really been an eye opening book.😌

In reading this book, business owners, and leaders across all levels, particularly women, will certainly certainly experience a mind shift.

For centuries, women have continued to accomplish outstanding feats.

However due to many constraints (economic or environmental, self imposed) and limiting thought patterns, the progressive contributions and innovations in business and leadership by women across all sectors has received less recognition than it deserves.

In reading this book, you would learn a whole lot:

1. You will learn to embrace your strengths.
2. You will learn to identify your weaknesses, self sabotaging habits and how to overcome them.
3. You will learn how to enlist the right help and strategic support needed to forge ahead.
4. You will learn about the importance of effective communication, speak up for yourself, your work and your accomplishments.
5. You will learn the importance of setting the right boundaries, saying ‘No’ to the wrong opportunities and saying ‘Yes’ to the right opportunities
6. You will learn the importance of authenticity and why this is crucial to your progressive movement as a leader and woman.
These and lots more are turning points from reading this book.

With case studies and real stories of people that remain memorable and relatable, this is certainly one book you will enjoy reading alone or with friends!
A highly recommended read, authored by @sally_helgesen and @coachgoldsmith.😊🙌🏽

Brave Review: The Power of Favor

I must say that “The Power of Favor” is the most positive and uplifting book I’ve read so far.
Joel Osteen’s (@joelosteen) written words are just as he speaks.🤣🤣🤣
It’s almost amusing😅and it’s quite easy to imagine that He is right before you in person.😊.

He is quite authentic and from reading his book, you will discover a depth of insight on God’s word.
He also expresses his thoughts with much simplicity that makes reading this book so easy.😃

Reading it will give you much hope and teach you to align your words and actions with what God’s word says about you.
So that you are aligned and well positioned to received the extra ordinary and favor of God.
It helps you see that, beyond the efforts and exteriors of what you can do and should do as a responsible human, there is more that can be accomplished, only by leaning on God and His ability to do what you can’t do for yourself.

That force is called “Favor”.
The miraculous dimension that helps you in life and purpose. It is the force that chooses you and helps you when you aren’t the most qualified, best or the most likely to be chosen.
“Favor” makes the impossible possible.
A dimension where protocols are broken for your sake.

Reading this book will leave you also feeling empowered, more hopeful, light hearted and with a renewed faith in God.
A deep knowing that God wants to grant you favor, and a belief that He simply wants to help you, just because.

Just because He loves you and He wants you to fulfill your purpose.
With many testimonies about real people and their favor transformations, including BTS stories and insight on how the “The Compaq Center” was acquired by Lakewood.
Reading all of this is truly phenomenal!😃

This is such a great book and I think it’s one you will want to revisit from time to time.
Such an amazing book by Joel Osteen and a highly recommended read!
If you need an encouragement and real change, then this is for you.😊👍🏽
